Besides performing, Maya's passion lies in giving back. In 2012, she co-founded 13 Wishes: a do-good business that brings the arts to places where they are limited and non-existent as well as raises awareness and fundraises for causes she believes in (including Invisible Illnesses Awareness, Anti-Bullying, and more). Recently, alongside her sister, Tehya, she developed @TheYaSisters: a digital platform that highlights inspiring young adults using their unique voices to change the world.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, @TheYaSisters partnered with Dear Evan Hansen star, Michael Brown to produce BeneFIT, a donation-based series of Zoom classes taught by industry professionals to benefit the Actors Fund.

Their most recent campaign, #MakeInvisibleVisible was a

collaboration with Kids Of The Arts & Laura Luc, Dance

Molinari & Janine Molinari, and The Early Night Show to

raise awareness and fundraise for invisible illnesses (including

but not limited to: Mental Illness/Suicide Prevention, Lyme

Disease, Celiac Disease, Crohn's Disease, Cancer, Lupus, Cystic

Fibrosis, and many more.)

Benefit

Everyone lives with something or knows someone going through something that is not always seen.

@TheYaSisters launched #MakeInvisibleVisible in May to bring awareness and fundraise for invisible illnesses and since then it's grown more than we could have ever imagined. Invisible illnesses include but aren't limited to Lyme, Celiac, Crohn's, Mental Illness & Suicide Prevention, CF, MS, and Asthma. We are partnered with Kids of the Arts, Dance Molinari, and The Early Night Show, have been so graciously sponsored by Tarte Cosmetics and the wonderful and talented Amanda Delgadillo has been the campaign's photographer.

We have gathered a bunch of our friends in NYC and LA together to be part of the first round of photoshoots. Their positive words on invisible illness and awareness speak loudly about what they want others to understand when speaking about invisible illnesses, how you're not alone, and how to be there as a support system when someone you know is going through something. We can't wait to have you involved.
